Frequently Asked Questions

Students can start from as young as 4 with our Keyboard Exploration Programme.

Regular piano lessons start from the age 5, and you’ll find these details on Children Program.

Absolutely! We have a program specifically designed for adult beginners.

Our lessons are interactive, personalised and based on an innovative approach.

Playing through the whole piano and learning pieces happens from the first lesson. There is a special emphasis in learning a healthy technique (children learn it through animal imagery) and internalising rhythm physically. All that soon develops into note reading, creating their own music based on the pieces they learn, acquiring a vocabulary of musical ideas to improvise, and developing aural skills to play by ear their favourite music.

Our lessons are very seriously planned, but fun delivered!

Absolutely. We highly encourage parents to attend lessons whenever possible. Your support plays an important role in your child’s progress, and by observing lessons, you will understand how to best support their practice and make the most of their learning experience at home.

We are unable to offer make-up lessons or reschedule missed lessons. The monthly fee covers a regular weekly lesson slot during the school term, and lessons cancelled by the student, regardless of the notice or reason, cannot be rescheduled nor refunded.

If you are unable to attend a lesson in person, online lessons may be available as an alternative, which can be especially helpful for last-minute issues, illness or unexpected circumstances.

If you cannot attend a lesson, please let us know so your teacher knows whether to expect you at the studio or come to your home. When a lesson is missed, your teacher will provide notes or a video with guidance so the student can continue practising according to their programme until the next lesson.

If another student cancels a lesson during the same week, we are happy to offer that available slot to you whenever possible.

Yes. All our teachers are highly qualified to prepare students for exams (minimum Undergraduate Music Degree).

We believe though, that exams shouldn’t be the goal of learning music, but just another way to assess the level. We won’t limit our teaching to the requirements of an exam syllabus. We believe that doing so can be to the detriment of the development of a wide range of skills, which include playing by ear, improvisation, composition etc.

We will not ‘fast track’ a pupil through exams by compromising the development of secure musical foundations.

However, we are happy to take pupils through the exams route as part of their own musical development.

We teach all grades from Grade 1 to Diploma level and keep a 100% rate of passing (and the majority of these are Merits and Distinctions).
