Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn piano, or perhaps you’re returning after years without playing. You might simply be looking for a meaningful creative outlet that is just for you.
Many adults worry they’re “too old” to start, don’t have enough time to practise or feel nervous about learning something new. At MMQ, we understand those concerns and have designed our programme specifically to help adult students succeed and enjoy the journey.
MMQ Approach:
At MMQ, we believe learning piano as an adult should be enjoyable, inspiring, and deeply rewarding. Whether your goal is to play for personal enjoyment, work towards exams, perform confidently, or simply reconnect with music, we’ll help you build the skills and confidence to get there.
Our pricing is simple, fair and budget friendly, with one payment each month between September and July.
Every adult student comes with different experiences, interests, and ambitions.
Our teachers tailor lessons to your goals while ensuring you develop strong musical foundations and a deeper understanding of music.
Our curriculum combines repertoire with strong technical development, creativity, and a deep musical understanding
Students develop skills in reading music, uderstanding theory in a practical way, playing by ear, improvising and arranging music and developing musical confidence and independence.
Our aim is not simply to teach pieces, but to help you become a complete musician.
Many adults never have the chance to share their music with others. At MMQ, performance is always encouraged but never forced.
Students can participate in studio concerts, graduation recitals, adult piano meet-ups, workshops and masterclasses
Our adult meet-ups provide a relaxed and supportive environment where students perform for one another, exchange ideas, and discuss topics such as practice techniques, performance anxiety, music history and interpretation.
Learning piano doesn’t have to be a solitary experience.
At MMQ, you’ll become part of a welcoming community of like-minded adults who share a love of music. Through lessons, meet-ups, workshops, concerts, and social events, many students build friendships alongside their musical skills.
Our teachers combine high-level performance training with specialist pedagogical expertise and ongoing professional development.
Most importantly, they are patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping every student progress.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning after decades away from the piano, meaningful progress is possible with the right guidance.
Many of our adult students have been with us for years, progressing from complete beginners to advanced levels, exams, performances, and lifelong enjoyment of music.
Everything you need for your musical journey is covered! Your monthly fee includes:
All books and learning materials
Regular performance opportunities
Full access to workshops and studio activities
Ongoing, dedicated support from our teaching team
Not at all. If you’re not ready for a long-term commitment, you are welcome to try it out for just one month and decide if you’d like to continue afterwards.
We keep things simple and hassle-free. If you need to stop, just give us one month’s paid notice and you can end your lessons.
We are unable to offer make-up lessons or reschedule missed lessons. The monthly fee covers a regular weekly lesson slot during the school term, and lessons cancelled by the student, regardless of the notice or reason, cannot be rescheduled nor refunded.
If you are unable to attend a lesson in person, online lessons may be available as an alternative, which can be especially helpful for last-minute issues, illness or unexpected circumstances.
If you cannot attend a lesson, please let us know so your teacher knows whether to expect you at the studio or come to your home. When a lesson is missed, your teacher will provide notes or a video with guidance so the student can continue practising according to their programme until the next lesson.
If another student cancels a lesson during the same week, we are happy to offer that available slot to you whenever possible.
Book a 30-minute consultation meeting with our Head Teacher to discuss your goals and expectations.
