Pablo Martinez is an experienced, award-winner music teacher, performer and composer based in London. He has earned a diploma in Contemporary Music from Newpark Music Centre, furthered his studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree with honours of the first class in composition, and is currently completing a Master’s Degree at the Royal Academy of Music. He has studied piano with Owen Lorigan, Dearbhla Collins, Saša Gerželj-Donaldson, and Edward Cohen.
Pablo has been tutoring piano, music theory and composition both in schools and privately since 2016, having worked at Gordonstoun School as a musician in residence, and at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland as a musicianship tutor. He has extensive experience teaching children and adults, not confining his teaching solely to the content of exams. The lessons encompass a range of diverse methodologies and learning outcomes, always tailored to the specific pupil’s needs.
He has recently been the winner of the Nevis Ensemble Wind and Brass competition and runner-up of the Dinah Wolfe Memorial Prize 2022.
While living in Ireland and Scotland, Pablo has written and produced some film scores – ‘The First Dance’, one of his recent works, directed by Daragh Goan was officially selected for the National Film Festival for the Talented Youth in Seattle, the Kerry Film Festival, and Elevation Indie Film Awards.
Pablo is currently interested in creating new interdisciplinary work with theatre and opera. He is performing one of his new pieces ‘What now, Jose?’ at the Fringe Festival 2024 and is developing a new piece including acting and movement supported by the London Sinfonietta.
